Petar M. Djuric, PhD

SUNY Distinguished Professor, Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Stony Brook University

Dr. Djuric received his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rhode Island in 1990. Since then, he has served on the faculty of Stony Brook University, where he is SUNY Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Dept. of  Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research is primarily on signal and information processing with emphasis on machine learning; Monte Carlo-based methods; the theory of signal modeling; detection and estimation; distributed signal processing; financial engineering; and applications to neuroscience.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and has served on a number of their technical committees. He is also a Fellow of the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP) and was a Member-at-Large of the Society of Physics Students (SPS) from 2011-2013.

Dr. Djuric was the recipient of the IEEE Magazine Best Paper Award in 2007, and the EURASIP Technical Achievement Award in 2012.
